For those of us who can't afford to inject collagen into our lips, or don't want the long-lasting effects: visual tricks to make your lips appear fuller.
1. EXFOLIATE
Smooth lips are kissable lips, so gently exfoliating your lips with a wash cloth wills slough off dead skin cells and allow for a silky-smooth surface for lipstick application.
2. MOISTURIZE
The more moisture you can infuse into the lip, the more full they will appear, so dab on a few drops of moisture serum. Blot with a tissue to remove excess after a minute, as color won't stick to a wet surface!

3. FILL IN
Using a lip pencil that is close to the lipstick color, fill in the entire lip (not outline). This will provide dimension to your lip color, creating the illusion of a fuller lip.
4. COLOR
Pick lighter and less-pigmented colors to create the illusion of a larger lip. Apply gloss over the entire lip, adding an extra amount in the center.
5. CONTOUR
This is not a subtle technique and should be used with caution, as contouring the lip can turn you into a drag queen very quickly if you aren't careful. After applying lip stick, use a pencil one shade darker than the color to darken the corners of the mouth every so slightly. Then, using a shimmery eyeshadow dab a small amount onto the center of the lips. Top the whole thing off with a coat of shimmer lip gloss.
