Whether you have perpetual dark circles or you had a wild night last night, a smoky eye isn't the route to take if you are trying to look fresh at the office.
1. PRIME
This can be done with an eyeshadow primer, or simply use your foundation as a shadow primer. Remember, moisturized eyes appear fresh and awake, so be sure to be generous with your eye cream, and allow to soak in for two minutes before beginning makeup.
2. CONCEAL
As with blemishes on your face, you are going to want to use a light-reflecting concealer below your eyes. The trick is to no overdo it. Three tiny dots below each eye and blended in with your finger should do the trick.
COVER FX Camouflage Concealer
$27 - Sephora Stores www.sephora.com
3. BASE
Blend a matte beige eyeshadow onto the lids with a lighter, iridescent shade onto the inner corners and right below the brow.
MAC Kid (Matte) and Shroom (Iridescent)
$14 - MAC Stores www.maccosmetics.com
4. LINE
For bright eyes, instead of brown or black eyeliner, try a beige combination for a wide-awake look. Line the outer rims with a matte pencil, and use a pearly pencil for the water line. This will open up the eyes without the obvious frosted look of a white eyeliner
MAKE UP FOR EVER Aqua Eyes 24L - Light Taupe and 23L - Metallic Pink Champagne
$17 - Sephora Stores www.sephora.com
5. COLOR
You are going to want to use caution when adding color to this look, as you can quickly go from flawless beuty to last night's leftovers. Instead of choosing a trendy or outrageous shadow, opt for a subtle color that highlights your eye color. Green eyes look great with soft gold, Brown eyes glow with a hint of green, blue eyes looks great with light grey, and grey eyes look stunning with blue. The colors should be applied with extreme care, so that they aren't even noticed at first glance!
