A Dozen Roses Eau de Parfum

So it's not the first time I've admitted that I can't smell a thing. Ok, well that is kind of a lie. I can smell, I just can't distinguish sandalwood from anise (is that even a smell?). My perfume abilities are limited to liking clean-, floral- and honeysuckle-smelling things.

Being a sucker for pretty packaging and floral-scented items, I had to check out three new fragrances from A Dozen Roses: Shakespeare in Love, Gold Rush and Iced White. Each one is unique in their specific tones, but each still fall into the floral category I love so much, without being cloying or heavy, which is easy to do in this scent range.

Shakespeare In Love is a mix of jasmine, gardenia and fresh pear, with a touch of vanilla.

Iced White is a mix of white primrose, white peony, osmanthus and vanilla.

Gold Rush is a mix of blackberry, ylang ylang, and neroli, layered with bittersweet chocolate and woodsy tones.

All of the scents include the Dozen Roses' signature rose absolut. My favorite of the three is Iced White, the lightest of the scents.

Each bottle appears like a work of art. On one side is a painted rose and the other an abstract painting. Both sides have a texture like a real painting, making the bottles collector's items. They are topped with a heavy gold cap, to accentuate the richness and luxury of the scent.

These are available at Neiman Marcus for $95 each.
