We all know them. That wart or blister that just won't go away. Well most can be treated or prevented very easily!
BLISTERS: Caused by excessve friction on the skin blisters can be popped by inserting a sterile needle into the blister and squeezing out the clear liquid, and following with an adhesive bandage. If the liquid is white or yellow, the blister is infected and you need to seek medical attention.
HEAT RASH: Caused by heat/sweat/friction, heat rash can be treated with a cold compress. This rash can be avoided by taking cold showers, using powder on the skin to soak up excess moisture. Also avoid synthetic fabrics as they tend to irritate the skin.
WARTS: Caused by HPV, there are many types of warts. Most can be removed with a salicylic acid treatment (Compound W). However, stubborn warts can be removed by your doctor, freezing with liquid nitrogen.
HIVES: Caused by an allergic reaction and often seen as raised bumps and redness on the skin. Easily treated with an antihistamine such as Dipenhydramine (Benadryl) or Loratadine (Claritin). In severe cases, UV Radiation may be used to reduce hives
INGROWN HAIRS / RAZOR BUMPS: Caused when the hair grows back into the follicle and causes a large, painful swelling. The best solution to this problem is to use TENDSKIN solution immediately after shaving and for a few days after. This will reduce razor bumps and ingrown hairs.
