I am thrilled to announce that I am officially Krystal, M.A.! Yes, this power femme is now a Master of Arts in Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies! I opted not to walk in the University commencement ceremony because cap and gown rental was pricey and the event would have lasted hours. Instead, I attended a smaller departmental ceremony with my program's faculty and cohort, as well as a campus-wide event called Rainbow Celebration. Rainbow Celebration, which was yesterday, honors the achievements and contributions of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer students and LGBTQ allies. This celebration was more intimate and personal than the larger commencement, and was a wonderful opportunity to recognize the social, political, and cultural contributions of queer students, faculty, and our supporters. This is the look that I wore to both events: a summer dress with orange accents, and a simple face with peach lips and cheeks.
